Dutch Dare Challenge #223 - Photo Inspiration

Today at the Dutch Dare Card Challenge we have a photo inspiration challenge.  I admit photo challenges can be difficult for me.  I usually just way over think it, so for this card I just went with it.  Our sponsor this week is Delicious Doodles and for my card I am using their  "Floral Watering Can" image.  Here is the photo inspiration.

For my card I tried to give it a summertime feel and picked color combos from the photos.  The image was colored with Copics, the sentiment is from a retired set from Stampin Up called "Pursuit of Happiness".  The pattern paper is from Recollections Pastels Printed Cardstock and the roses were made using the MFT Mini Rolled Roses Die-namics.  I used the SU Bird Punch for the leaves.  There are pearls added to the center of the roses and some gems randomly added for some sparkle.

I hope you will be able to join the design team this week and look forward to seeing what you have created...

Birthday Card Using Art Impressions "Madge"

Well, I am finally posting for this week.  I was busy rearranging my work space and it can be a project.  I have more stuff than space, but I just hate to part with any of my stamping stuff.  So anyways, it took up most of the week.  Onto my card.  This card was inspired from the challenge at Papertake Weekly.  The theme this week is "Hot, Hot, Hot".  So for my card I am using an Art Impressions stamp called "Madge".  I went with reds, oranges and yellow for my hot color scheme.  And personally I think Madge looks like she is having a hot flash, so I would think she qualifies.  The image was colored with Copics and the papers are from the Basic Grey "Fiction" 6x6 pad.  I used the Nestabilites Oval & Lacey Oval dies and a retired photo corner punch from SU.  The sentiment was done on my computer.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Papertake Weekly - Hot, Hot, Hot Challenge
Created With Love Challenges - Favorite Things
***My favorite thing is my Copics and stamped images that I can color!

Birthday Card Using Art Impressions "Cliff"

Time just flew by today, so I am posting rather late.  I just received my order from Art Impressions for some new stamps, so of course I had to try one out.  Since most of the challenges this week are looking for Father's Day / masculine cards I decided to use the stamp "Cliff".  I went with a birthday card, since I can always use those in my collection and I had finished my Father's Day card a couple of weeks ago.  The image was colored with Copics.  The sentiment is from an old Stampin Up set called "Word Play" and the papers are from Basic Grey "Fact".

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Crafting By Designs - Anything Goes With A Twist Father's Day / Men / Male
Art Impressions - Challenge #112 Masculine Cards

By the way - if you check out the Art Impressions challenge you may notice my card from the  June 8th posting.  I am proud to say it was picked for their "Top Spot".

Card Using Mo Manning "Enjoy The Ride"

Today's card was inspired by the challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp blog.  This week's theme is Transportation, so I pulled out another old stamp that has never been used.  It is a Penny Black / Mo Manning stamp called "Enjoy The Ride".  I bought a bunch of these stamps over a year ago and just stuck them away in a drawer.  Well, I am finally getting them out and just realizing how large they are.  I ended up making a 5 x 5 card, so that I could use the sentiment that came with the stamp.  Also, I used a new pattern paper pack from Kathy Davis called Journey's from GCD Studios.  This paper is just so beautiful and I wanted to at least to see some of the pattern.

Dutch Dare Challenge #221 - For Dad

Father's Day is June 16th, so the Dutch Dare Challenge this week is "For Dad".  Our sponsor is Crafty Sentiments Designs and I am using their very cute "Lilly" digi image.  I went with the idea of Daddy's little girl giving the card to her father and Lilly fit the card perfectly.  I colored her in with my Copics and fussy cut the image.  All the papers are from Recollections "Bold Basics" and the border die is from MFT "Retro Squares".  I punched some small circles with a hole punch and added them to the centers of the die cuts.  It just looked a little bland without.  I popped up my image on a die cut circle to give it some grounding.  And lastly added some black Liquid Pearls to the center of the flowers on her dress to add some dimension.  Since the card is meant to be more masculine even with the Lily image I used more dark tones for my papers.  Looking forward to seeing what you come up with this week.

Until next time...

Make It Monday #120 - Overlapping Ombre

Today's card is for Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday challenge.  Nicole has a video showing how to use sentiments or border stamps to create an ombre look.  For my card I used the sentiments from the Embroidered Blooms stamp set.  The ink combinations I used were Stampin Ups Crumb Cake, Soft Suede & Early Espresso.  The "birthday" was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black.  I used the Cuttlebug Swiss Dot embossing folder for the top portion of the card and the ribbon was from Hobby Lobby.  A little different than I normally do (no pattern paper), but I think it works for a clean and simple look.

Art Impressions "Girlfriend - Out To Lunch" Birthday Card

I have finally gotten back into card making mode after my broken wrist.  It took a while, but I'm back in my groove.  Today I am using the sketch from i {heart} sketches #021.  I went with a square card and flipped the sketch.  It just worked better with my stamped image.

Here is the sketch...

Lately, I seem to be making cards with circles for my background.  This card is no exception. I used the "Girlfriends - Out To Lunch" image from Art Impressions.  This is another one of my favorite stamp companies, since I like working with comical images.  The pattern paper is from MME - Miss Caroline "Dilly Dally".  The challenge at the Art Impressions Blog this week is to use brads or eyelets, so I added small silver brads to the corners and as a little bling for the dress.  There is some Glossy Accents on the cup, saucer, cake plate and earrings. I also added some gold & white gel pen and Stickles to bling up their outfits.

Anything Goes Challenge Birthday Card

Just a real simple birthday card for today's post.  I used the "Stella Birthday - 29 Again" digi image from Bugaboo Stamps.  As I have said before I love their images.  They are great for coming up with cute, simple cards.  Stella & Gus are easy to color and work well for those anniversary and male birthday cards.  The pattern paper is from Recollections "Bold Basics"Since there was a lot going on with my image I picked a pattern paper that had all the colors, but yet wasn't too bold.  There is some Glossy Accents on the balloons and package.  I also added some Stickles to Stella's hat, which is a little hard to see in the picture.

Anything Goes Challenges - Father's Day Card

Well, I hope all of you have survived the bad weather this week.  We have had some storms with wind and hail, but nothing compared to the strong people of Oklahoma.  I can't image what they are going though.  Hopefully, the weather will be getting better soon.  I thought for today's card I should start thinking about Father's Day.  Which I think is June 16th.  So I pulled out a stamp that I have had for quite a while, but of course have yet to use.  I have quite a few of those as I'm sure you do too!  The stamp I used was from Whipper Snapper Designs "Big Jake".  So I inked it up with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored it with my Copics.  The image was large, so I ended up fussy cutting it out.  The paper is from Recollections "Bold Basics".  The sentiment was from a Fiskars sentiment set that I no longer have the packaging, so I don't know the name.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

I used the same basic layout on the inside.  I created a sentiment on my computer that says "Sit back and relax, it's your day".  I'm sure my mother will look at that and say my father does that everyday.  Thanks for stopping by...
