PTI Make It Monday - Creating With Stripes

Today's card is for the Papertrey Ink Make It Monday challenge - Creating With Stripes.  Lori's video showed some really creative ways to use stripes on your projects.  For my stripe I used the PTI stamp set called Ombre Builders.  I added a red ribbon to add a little pop to the stripe.  The flowers are from the PTI Brushed Blooms set and the sentiment is from the PTI Just The Ticket.  This is a great set when you need just a small sentiment.  To shake things up a little bit I stamped on Kraft card stock.

For the inside I used the Printworks stamp Wishing You Everything.

Have a great day...

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - No Designer Paper

I love using patterned papers with my cards, so it really was a challenge to make a card this week for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - No Designer Papers.  I wanted my card to have the depth & dimension pattern papers can give to a card.  So first I ran a sheet of white card stock through my Big Shot using the Stampin Up Textured Impressions Stripes embossing folder.  I layered that on some Rose Red card stock to match my stamped flowers.  Using the Papertrey Ink Quilted Spring dies & stamps I die cut the quilted square, stamped it and placed it on a piece of white card stock that was stamped with a script background stamp from Indadinkado called Letter.  The flowers were die cut & stamped with the same PTI set.  The "happy birthday" was die cut using the dies from Penny Black called Celebrations.  I die cut 3 sets and layered them together.  Here is my card for this week's challenge.

For the inside I used a stamp from Printworks called Little Treasures.

Have a great day...

Stamping Bella Wedding Card

My niece had asked me to make a wedding card that she is going to in November.  So I pulled out one of my favorite stamp sets for weddings from Stamping Bella from the Uptown Couple series called Brett & Brenda Get Married.  This is a really large stamp, so I only colored up the top half for my card.  The papers were from My Mind's Eye Love Me 6x6 pack.    Not your conventional colors, but I think it works.  The "celebrate" was die cut using Penny Black's die cuts called Celebrations.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Die Crazy
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes 9/15 - 9/21

I'm giving my niece the card today and of course it was cloudy, so the pics are not the best.  Also, for some reason my red doesn't film real well either.  This is actually SU's Cherry Cobbler.

Here is the inside.

Have a great weekend!

Papertrey Ink Create With Us Release Week

Papertrey Ink has just released their new products for the September release, so they are having a create with us challenge.  The idea is to take inspiration from the different projects the design team has come up with be it a technique or color combo - whatever really grabs you.  For my card I took inspiration from a card that Maile Belles did.  Click HERE to link up to Maile's card.  What caught my eye was how she used the PTI Angle Horizontal Split Die and the stamped image.  So with that in mind I did the same layout only using the PTI Curved Horizontal Die and the Harvest Berries Stamp set.  The sentiment was from the Hero Arts stamp set called With Sympathy.  I was able to curve it a bit when I stamped it.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Art Impressions Challenge - Cut Out Your Cards

The challenge for the next two weeks at the Art Impressions blog is Cut Out Your Cards.  For my card I used the AI Tri-Fold set called Garden TF.  This was the first Tri-Fold card that I had done, so it took a little figuring out to come up with the end result.  I ended up making the tri-fold card with black card stock.  I then stamped & colored each image with Copics.  I trimmed them down, adhered them to the black cardstock and them trimmed the the black card leaving a slight edge.  I then mounted the card on a piece of 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 piece of black cardstock.  The band was made using some ribbon, die cuts and a very old SU stamp set.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Art Impressions Challenge 168 - Cut Out Your Cards
WordArt Wednesday Challenge 200 - Let's Celebrate
Simon Says Stamptember Challenge & Blog Hop - Use a Stamp

Simon Says STAMPtember Use Any Stamp Challenge & Blog Hop

Over at the Simon Says Stamp blog they are celebrating STAMPtember with a blog hop & Use A Stamp challenge.  The design team has some really great cards using some of Simon's new products and there are prizes to be won at the different stops.  There are some dies that are going on my wish list!  For today's card I pulled out a Whipper Snapper Designs stamp called Moo"d Swing.  I really love their whimsical images and it was quick to color with my Copics.  The background was created using a cutting plate from Taylored Expressions called Ray Of Sunshine using papers from CratePaper called Farmhouse.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Use A Stamp
Through The Craft Room Door - Anything Goes 9/8 - 9/14
Seize The Birthday - Anything Goes Birthday Card

I didn't have a lot of room for the sentiment, which was computer generated plus the background is rather busy, so I added it to the inside of my card.  The corners were done using a very old photo corner punch from Stampin Up.

Hope you have a great day...

More Birthday Cards

I have two more really simple birthday cards.  Both were made using the Papertrey Ink's Sentiment Splits Curve Vertical Dies and the coordinating sentiments stamps.  For the first card I used both the upper & lower dies and used papers from My Minds Eye Moments paper collection.  The second card I used only the top die and stamped the lower portion using stamps from Hot Off The Press called Stamped Stitches.  I saw a somewhat similar card on the internet, but that was a while ago and I can't remember the site, so I can't link up to it.  Both of these cards are so simple you can make them in minutes!

PTI Make It Monday - Camouflaged Pocket Inserts

This week the Papertrey Ink  Make It Monday challenge is camouflaged pocket inserts.  Dawn McVey has a video showing her take on this wonderful idea.  For my card I just created my own pocket that would hold a large insert.  The insert was made using the Spellbinders Labels Eight die. The "camouflage" was made using PTI's Meadow Greens stamps & dies on kraft card stock.  The flowers were heat embossed and I inked up 2 different greens for the ferns.  The outside & inside sentiments were made using PTI's Just The Ticket  stamps & border die.  The stripped paper used for the pocket and back was from Stampin Up's Subtle Designer Series.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Papertrey Ink Make It Monday - Camouflaged Pocket Inserts
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Use a Stamp & Blog Hop
Through The Craft Room Door - Anything Goes 9/8 - 914

PTI Mighty Oak Birthday Card

Here is another quick card using the Papertrey Ink Mighty Oak stamp set & coordinating cover plate.  Using the cover plate I die cut the paper then stamped the tree trunk in the negative space.  Using Walnut Distress Ink I went around the outside of the paper.  The leaves were stamped using the different leaf designs in the stamp set.  In gold embossing powder I added the Happy Birthday sentiment.  It's hard to see and I think I might do something different next time.  Also, I stamped it after I popped up all the leaves, so it was a little difficult to get the stamp exactly where I wanted it.  Here is my card.

The inside was stamped using a sentiment from My Sentiments Exactly.  The bird was from StampinUp called Young Vermillion.

Simple Birthday Card

Here is another simple card using Papertrey Ink products.  The idea for this card came from Nicole Heady's blog from the November 2013 release.  To see her card please click HERE.  She always has such creative designs for all the PTI stamps & dies.  For my card the back panel was stamped using the PTI stamp set Embroidered Blooms.  The blue panel was die cut using the PTI Tipped Tops dies.  I also used the Happy die cut from the set to make the negative cut.  The "Birthday" was stamped using an old set from Stampin Up called Happiest Birthday Wishes.  I thought it still needed a little something, so I added some gems.

The inside sentiment was from Print Works called Wishing You a Day.

Have a great weekend...

Art Impressions "Southern Style" Challenge

Over at the Art Impressions Blog this week is a "Southern Style" challenge.  They are releasing a new line of stamps with a Texas theme.  When I think of the south I think of  barbecue, ribs & pork, so for my card I pulled out my AI Mini Front & Back Elephant & Pig set.  I also have the matching dies, so these are really easy to color and die cut.  I decided to make a Flip It card, since I haven't done one of these for a while and used my Sizzix Circle Flip It Die for the base of the card.  I then cut out a piece of pattern paper from the Recollections Bold Basics 8x11 pack, trimmed it to fit.  I also cut out a circle for the flip portion of the card using another pattern paper from the same pack.  The sentiment In Pig Years is from Whipper Snapper Designs.  I trimmed it down into sections, so I could fit it on my card.  On the backside of the card I used the Happy Birthday sentiment from the AI set called Out to Lunch.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Art Impressions Challenge #167 - Southern Style
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Make It Colorful
Through the Craft Room Door Challenge - 9/1 - 9/7

When you hold both sides of the card & pull it flips the center circle to the backside.

Hope you enjoyed this fun interactive card!

Simple Birthday Card Using PTI You've Been Framed Oval

Today's card was made using the PTI You've Been Framed Oval Stamp & Dies.  This is a very easy card since the die does all the work & you just need to stamp the oval with the assortment of stamps.  The paper was from GCD Studios called Fantasy Gardens.  I have been trying to do more simple stamped cards that I can do with my mom.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

PTI Make It Monday - Masking Sentiments Card 2

Here is my second card for the Papertrey Make It Monday challenge.  It's basically the same card only for this one I used the PTI Circle Scribbles stamp set for my background.  Again, the sentiment is from the PTI stamp set Mini Blooms and the dots were done using Inkssentials Enamel Accents.

PTI Make It Monday - Masking Sentiments

Today's card was made for the Papertrey Ink Make It Monday challenge.  Ashley Cannon Newell has a video showing her tips & tricks for masking sentiments.  My card was made using the PTI Funky Florals as my background.  I just used a square punch on a post-it to make my mask, then stamped it with the "Hello There" sentiment from the PTI stamp set Mini Blooms.  I used Inkssentials Enamel Accents for the black dots around the sentiment.  It's a little hard to see in the pic, but I used blue, pink & yellow Stickles on all the dots.  In person it's really pops and almost looks like fireworks.

Changing Things Up

Today's card is a change of pace from my usual cards.  I try to come up with my own designs or work off of a sketch from a challenge, but every now and then I see a fantastic card design that I want to recreate.  And that is what today's card is about.  I saw this card on the Do Stamping with Dawn blog.  She is a Stampin Up Demonstrator that has many unique card designs that are easy to create, but look great.  I went to a SU party several years ago and when I saw the Summer Silhouettes stamp set I had to have it.  Well with everything it was put on the shelf and never used.  When I saw Dawn's card I had to pull out this set and fell in love with all over again.  To see Dawn's card click the link HERE.  I changed up the sentiment, which was from the SU Sincere Salutations set.  I just banded my ribbon  instead of a bow and layered the stamp piece on Old Olive card stock.  Here is my card.

Since this card was so easy to do I made several using different sentiments.

I went a little crazy and did the inside too!

Have a great weekend...

Art Impressions Challenge - Anything Goes

Well, I am finally back after hip replacement surgery.  It's taken time to manage the steps, so this was the first week I was able to get down to my craft area and make some cards.  Today's card is for the Art Impression Challenge - Anything Goes.  I pulled out the AI stamp & sentiment set Goldie Golfer, colored her with Copics & paper pieced the skirt & visor.  The papers were just from my scrap bin.  The letters were cut using the MFT By the Letters Die-namics  and the background paper was cut using the PTI Angle Vertical Die.  Here's my card for this week's challenge.

Art Impressions - Spring Colors

Well, it's week two of the Spring Colors challenge at the Art Impressions blog.  I was digging through all my AI stamps and I found the Sally Swimmer set which includes the sentiment.  I forgot I even had her, but she was perfect for spring colors.  The papers which are also bright were from Doodlebug Design called Take Note.

Have a great Easter Holiday...

Make It Monday - Double Partial Die Cutting

It's been a while seen I done a card for the Papertrey Ink Make It Monday challenge.  This week Laura shows how to make a card by double partial die cutting.  For my card I pulled out the "Happy" die form PTI's Tipped Tops Dies.  The background was done with an air spritzer and markers.  The birthday sentiment and flowers were die cut and stamped using PTI's Bigger Blooms.  The paper is from Fancy Pants Designs Park Bench series.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Stampingbella "Parker the Pig"

My card that I am posting today was made for the Stampingbella Bellarific Friday challenge.  This week it's about stitches.  I started out stamping & coloring The Stampingbella stamp called Parker the Pig.  The papers are from the Farm House Paper Company called Fair Skies.  I stitched the blue check to the ballon paper with just some very simple cross stitches using white embroidery floss.  The sentiment "never say never"  was part of the stamp set.

Vintage Vibe is the theme over at the Art Impressions blog this week.  They have released some new vintage stamps with sentiments that are super cute.  The design team made some really great cards using these new stamps - I love them all.  With the theme being "vintage" the first thing I thought of was wine, so I pulled out one of the newer AI sets from Hampton Art that you can find at Michaels called Wine Diva.  I also pulled out some vintage type paper from Crate Paper called Close Knit.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Stampingbella Uptown Paisley Has A Prezzie

The Stampingbella challenge this week is washi tape or ribbon.  So for my card I pulled out Uptown Girl Paisley has a Prezzie.  I colored her up with Copics and the stripes weren't as bad as I thought they would be, since they are pretty small.  I also got carried away and added Stickles to her skirt, bows and the ruffles on her top.  The sentiment was a diecut from Penny Black called Celebrations.  I love these and use them alot!  The paper is also one of my favorites from Prima Marketing called Doodle Deux.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Art Impressions "Tie It Up" Challenge

For today's card I pulled out another Art Impressions stamp that I have yet to ink up called Crown Set.  I love this gal and the sentiment that goes with.  I paper pieced her suit stamping it twice, cutting out the coat and skirt separately.  The papers are from The Paper Studio Murphy's Square.  The crown on the sentiment was from MFT's Pure Innocence - Something Special For You, which I couldn't find on their site, so it might be retired.  The challenge for the next couple of week's at the AI Blog is "Tie It Up".  You need to use ribbon, twine, string whatever on your card.  Since we are in Florida for the winter and I don't have all my supplies, I'm short ribbon & such.  So I added some yellow twine on my sentiment to match the crown.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Stampingbella Uptown Couple Brett & Brenda Get Married

Today's card was made with The Bellariffic Friday Sketch #4 at the Stampingbella blog.  This is first time I have inked up one of these stamps.  I like the way my card turned out, but really I don't think you can go wrong with any of the Stamping Bella stamps.  Here is the sketch for this week.
I changed up the sketch and made an A2 card instead of square.  The image is from  Stamping Bella's Uptown Couple Brett & Brenda Get Married.  The paper's are from My Mind's Eye Lost & Found - Union Square.  Even though it's not traditional wedding colors I love these papers.  The diecut around the image is from Spellbinder's Fleur de Lis Squares and the "celebrate" die cut is one of the dies from the Penny Black Die set called Celebrations, which I got from Simon Says Stamp.  I actually cut this out twice - once in black and the other in red.  I like to layer them to make it pop.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

My flowers came out a little pink in the photo, but they actually match the cardstock.

Art Impressions Challenge - Front & Back

The challenge for the next two weeks at Art Impressions  is "Front & Backs".  AI is releasing four new sets that have matching dies and they are super cute!  So for my card I pulled out AI's Front & Back stamp set Hal.  I haven't had a chance to use him yet and I need a birthday card for our friend Tony who is going to be 93 next month.  The sentiment "Officially Old" is from Hampton Art's Laugh Out Loud line.  The paper for the wall that Hal is on is from My Mind's Eye Bramble Rose 6x6 pack.  For the inside card I used the Papertrey Ink Text Block: Party Time die with papers from Basic Grey's Shine On

Hope you all had a great Valentine's Day!

Today's card is for the Papertrey Ink Make It Monday Challenge.  Dawn McVey shows how to create layers using your cover plates.  For my card I used the  PTI Hexagon Cover Plate for my background.  Then I used PTI Feather Finery stamps & dies  to create the feathers and sentiment.  This set has been out of stock for a while, but finally came in, so I was excited to get it.
Here is my card for this week's challenge.

Art Impressions "Have A Heart" Challenge

My card today was made for the Art Impressions challenge "Have A Heart".  With us being in Florida for the winter I have limited supplies.  With Valentine's Day I should have thought to pack my heart stamps & dies, but I never think that far ahead.  So my paper plays on the heart theme for this card.  I used the AI stamp "Dotty".  When I saw the sentiment stamp "Lifes Dance" from Hampton Art I thought they would go perfect together.  The sentiment was stamped using the Spellbinders Labels Twenty - Two die.  The papers are from American Crafts Dear Lizzy - Lucky Charm 6x6 pack.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Art Impressions Challenge #152 - Have A Heart
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes
