Art Impressions Challenge Shake A Little

Another fun card today for the Art Impressions Challenge #198 Shake a Little.  I used the AI stamp & die set called Birthday Fairy Set.  I paper pieced her dress with some scrap pattern paper, added Stickles to her wings & hat.  I die cut a second skirt and added the action wobble that comes with the set for the "Shake a Little" aspect of the card.  It's hard to see, but I also stamped some stars on the yellow background with a shimmery ink pad I purchased from Stampin Up years ago.  For the inside I used the Sizzix 3D Scallop With Gifts Drop In Dies.  There are several dies in the set that you can use to drop in, I chose the Happy Birthday.  Here is my card.

Thanks for stopping by & stay warm!!!

Art Impressions Challenge - Slide on By

Today's card is for the Art Impressions Challenge - Slide On By.  I don't have any of the AI stamp & die slider sets, so I improvised using a rectangle die and small hole punch to make the slider element of the card.  For the piece that pulls out I used the top part of the  AI sentiment stamp Chicken and for the chicks I used the AI stamp Chicks.  Once the slider is pulled out I used the AI stamp Fainted Chicken.  I think this stamp is just so funny.  The sentiment was the bottom portion of the sentiment stamp I used on the slider piece.  The papers were from American Crafts called Heartland Farm.  Here is my card.

Art Impressions Challenge - Prep For Christmas

I'm back with a card for the Prep For Christmas challenge at the Art Impressions Blog.  This is the first time I have inked up this stamp from AI - I just love the sentiment that goes with this gal.  I looked all over the AI store, but I couldn't find this stamp to link up to, so I'm not sure if this has been retired.  The papers were from the The Paper Studio called Cozy Little Christmas.  I also added a few snowflakes that were die cut using white glitter paper.

Art Impressions Challenge - Cards To Die For

The challenge the last couple weeks at the Art Impressions Blog is Cards to Die For.  So for my card I pulled out the AI stamp set and coordinating dies called Fairy Spinner.  I used white embroidery floss for my string to make my stamped image spin.  The papers were from Recollections Bright & Basic 6 x6 pack.  I used a circle & scalloped circle die to create the opening.  The sentiment, which also comes with the stamp set was done with two old punches from Stampin Up.

Have a great week...

PAPERTREY INK MAKE IT MONDAY - USING FLORALS ON A MASCULINE PROJECT

This week's Make It Monday challenge for Papertrey Ink is making masculine cards using floral stamps.  Betsy has a video showing her tips and tricks for this type of card.  For my card I used papers from 7 Gypsies called Travel.  I die cut a solid piece of pattern paper from the same pack using the PTI Tipped Tops Dies.  The "Happy" was also from this same die set.  The word "birthday" was stamped using the PTI stamp set Keep It Simple - Birthday II.  For the branches & leaves I used the stamps & dies from PTI called Spruce & Sprigs.  The flower was stamped & die cut using the PTI set Bigger Blooms.  Here is my card.

I not real sure if I pulled off this masculine look.  After I made it I thought I should have hidden parts of the sprigs & blooms under the pattern paper like Betsy did to so it's not so in your face.  Thanks for stopping by...

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday - From Black & White To Color

This week's challenge for Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday is From Black & White To Color.  Danielle has a video showing her tips and tricks for this technique.  For my card I used two coordinating stamp sets - the Delightful Dahlia set and the Delightful Dahlia Additions.  In Danielle's video she used Copic markers to color in her stamped images.  I just used the Delightful Dahlia Additions with three different colors of pink for my color.  The sentiment also was from these sets.  I die cut the colored piece and popped it up with foam dots to give it a little more dimension.

Papertrey August Blog Hop Challenge

The inspiration for today's card is the photo over at Nicole Heady's blog for the Papertrey August Blog Hop Challenge.

Using the Papertrey Ink Delightful Dahlia stamp set I embossed the flower & leaves with white embossing powder.  Using a dauber I added colors from the inspiration pic.  The sentiment is from the Papertrey Ink Just the Ticket.  The ribbon is actually a die cut using the Cherry Lynn Designs Alison's Ribbons Die.  I can never get ribbon to look the way I want, so this is a nice alternative.  And since you can use paper it always matches your project.
Here is my card.

It's a cloudy day today, so my pic is a little dark.  Thanks for stopping by...

Art Impressions Challenge - Too Cute To Spook!

The challenge for the next two weeks at the Art Impressions Blog is Too Cute To Spook.  They are also releasing three new Halloween clear stamp sets that are super cute.  For my card I pulled out the Art Impressions stamp set Girls Night Out.  I colored my image with Copics and added some silver Stickles to her shoe buckles and hat band.  The papers were from K & Company Spooky collection.  Here is my card.

I think this image is so much fun!  Thanks for stopping by and have a great week.

Papertrey Ink Create Along With Us

This week's challenge over at Nicole Heady's blog for Papertrey Ink is Create Along With Us.  It's a chance to use all the inspiration from the design team posted for this month's release.  There were so many great ideas and card designs it was hard to just pick one, but I went with a card done by Heather Nichols using the new Mini Market Kit: Color Pop Autumn.
Here is Heather's card I used for inspiration:

For my card I used the PTI Bitty Bouquet stamps and dies.  The stamped dots came from the PTI stamp set Harvest Berries and the sentiment was done using the "happy" die and sentiments stamp set from Simon Says Stamp.  I thought it needed just something else, so I added the ribbon.
Here is my card:

PTI - Make It Monday / Sentiment Strip Grounding

This week for the Papertrey Ink Make It Monday Challenge Lexi has a video with her tips and tricks for making a CAS card with a grounding strip with sentiment.  For my card I used the PTI Swoosh stamp set for my sentiment.  I embossed it using fine white embossing powder on a brown piece of card stock.  For my flowers I used the PTI Bitty Bouquets stamps & coordinating dies.  I was going to stop there, but I thought it was just a bit too plain, so I added a die cut using the PTI Hexagon Cover Plate.  It's hard to see in the pic, but I think it really finishes off the card.

Happy Birthday Charlie

Today's card is for my great nephew's first birthday.  He's all things dogs, so I used a stamp from Whipper Snapper Designs called Digby.  The circle was stamped using several images from the Whipper Snapper Design stamp set called A Dog's Life.

Art Impressions Sweet Summertime Challenge

Have a great day...

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday - Spritzed Stamps

This week for Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday series Melissa Phillips has a video on spritzing your stamps.  I tried a lot of different PTI stamps using this technique until I settled on the Hands of Time stamp set.  I think I was spraying them with way too much water because when I stamped them I ended up with a big blob of colored water.  So I used two different colors of ink and then lightly spritzed the stamp.  There is some pooling of the color, but you also can make out some of the details of the stamp.  The roman numerals I just stamped without any water.  I die cut the hands using the matching PTI Hands of Time dies in a brushed silver card stock to add some dimension.  I embossed the sentiment with silver embossing powder using the sentiment from PTI Graceful Greetings II.

Art Impressions - Anything Goes

I have a birthday card I made using the Art Impressions "Birthday Wishes" stamp set I picked up at Hobby Lobby.  I paper pieced his shirt and colored the rest with Copics.  The paper was from the We R Memory Keepers Chalkboard paper pad.  The celebrate was die cut using the Penny Black Celebrations Dies and the banner was from Simon Says Stamp Ribbon Banner Die.  This card is for the Anything Goes Challenge at the Art Impressions Blog.

Since this set comes with several images & sentiments I decided to use one of the sentiments and the balloons for the inside.

Have a terrific day...

Papertrey Ink - Create Along with Us

This week at Papertrey Ink the theme is to create along with us.  The challenge - to make a card using inspiration from the design team.  The inspiration for my card came from Dawn McVey.  It's a very clean & simple design, but as Dawn posted it has a lot texture.

Here is Dawn's card.
DSC_7632.1

For my card I used the recently released stamp & dies from PTI called Forget Me Not.  This is the first time I have inked up these stamps and I think this is now one of my favorites.  The sentiment was also stamps and dies from PTI called Graceful Greetings II.  I think these are really elegant and will be using these a lot in the future.  I used a vertical striped embossing folder from Stampin Up, which is a little hard to pick up on camera.  Last I added a little bling and some Stickles to the center of the flowers.

Here is my take on Dawn's card.

 Have a great weekend...

Art Impressions Challenge - Slide On By

Art Impressions is introducing a new line of stamps and dies that makes an interactive slider card.  So for this week's challenge the theme at the Art Impressions Blog is Slide On By.  I really love these new sets they are so cute and the design team has some really wonderful examples.  For my card I looked up different slider type cards on You Tube, since the challenge was to have a slider or some type of hidden feature.  I once again used the Art Impressions Bowling set for all the images & sentiments for my card.  By pulling the ribbon on the right hand side of the card you reveal both the right & left hidden parts of the card.

As you pull on the ribbon both tabs start to reveal themselves.

Here are the tabs fully revealed.  The bowling pins I masked off to create them stacked together.  The bowling ball was one I colored and fussy cut from the image I used on the front of the card.

Here is a close up of the sliding parts of the card.

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday - Reverse Stenciling

Today's card was made for Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday challenge.  Betsy has a video showing a reverse stenciling technique.  I don't have a lot of stencils, so I ended up using the Spellbinders Impressabilities Flourish.  It's basically a metal stencil that worked just as well as a plastic stencil and I was happy with the results.  I used that as my background with the PTI You've Been Framed: Hexagon Die.  I love these You've Been Framed dies, as you probably noticed I used them a lot.  The sentiment was done using the PTI Wet Paint Cuts Dies.  The Birthday was from the PTI Wet Paint Stamp Set.  I finished it off using the PTI dies & stamps from the Rosie Posie sets.   The leaves were from the PTI Turning A New Leaf stamps & dies.  So here is my card.

I like how this background turned out and will probably use the technique again.

Art Impressions Challenge - Aging With Attitude

I haven't posted for a while, but I'm back with a fun card using the stamps from Art Impressions/Hampton Arts that I picked up at Michaels.  The set is called Bowling and it has a lot of fun sentiments and images.  I think these gals go perfect with this week's challenge at the AI Blog called Aging With Attitude.

The background paper was from the Glitz paper pack called Uncharted Waters.  The sentiment & bowling pins on the front of the card also came with the set.

Art Impressions Challenge - Creative Critters

Today's card is for the challenge over at the Art Impressions Blog - Creative Critters.  I went with a shaker card using the Art Impressions Mini Front & Back Pig & Elephant stamp & dies.  I used just the front of the elephant for my card along with the sentiment.  These are so easy to color and die cut.  The paper was from Authentique called Latest & Greatest.  I also die cut out the small hearts for the shaker part of the card.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes

With Mother's Day coming up I made a card to send to my mom.  Since I will be mailing it I didn't go crazy with layers.  I am also entering this card in this week's Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes.  First I die cut the flowers using the Wildflower Corner Die from Memory Box leaving the negative space on the dark pink card stock.  Using the same die I cut it again using silver paper and glued it into the negative space.  I used a piece of light pink card stock on the back to fill in the flower.  The sentiment was die cut using a die from Penny Black called For You.  I cut it three times and layered them for some depth. I love all the Penny Black sentiment dies because they are just so delicate looking.  I added some bling to the smaller flowers and that was it.

Art Impressions Birthday Love Set

Today's card was made with two different challenges in mind.  The first is the challenge over at the Art Impressions Blog called show off your stamp.  The second challenge is with Simon  Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge called Let's do Polka Dots.  So I pulled out the AI set called Birthday Love Set one of their AI People stamp sets.  I colored the image with Copics and paper pieced the image with papers from Recollections called Paddywack.   As you can see all the papers used have polka dots.  Here is my card.

Papertrey Ink Create Along With Us Challenge

Since it's release week at Papertrey Ink the challenge is to make a project using inspiration from the design team.  For my card my inspiration came from Betsy Veldman's card in which she used the new products for this month.  I liked the bold sentiment and how the stamped design grounded the sentiment.  Here is Betsy's card.

I changed my card up a bit.  I used the PTI stamp & die set called Spruce & Sprigs.  I had just ordered this and wanted to ink it up.  The sentiment which is one of my favorites is the PTI Wet Paint stamps & dies.  The bird came from the PTI stamp & dies called Winter Woods.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Birthday Card Using Art Impressions "Cliff"

I need a birthday card for my brother's birthday, so I pulled out one of my favorite stamps from Art Impressions called Cliff.  For my background I die cut numbers using MFT Die-namics By The Numbers from a piece of Kraft card stock.  I then cut out the same numbers from random sheets of pattern paper from the Echo Park 6x6 pad called Getaway.  I stamped Cliff and colored the image with my Copics, layered it on Kraft & black card stock and added some mini black brads at the top & bottom of my image.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Art Impressions Blog Challenge #181 - Add  A Brad
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Happy Birthday

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday - Color Isolation

This week for the Make It Monday Challenge for Papertrey Ink Ashley has a video showing the technique of color isolation.  I liked how she used an outline image for her stamp.  I didn't really have anything like that, so I pulled out the PTI set Hands of Time.  The ink I used for my background stamping was the lightest I had, so I went with that.  I then used the same stamps and stamped it in a bold red with black numbers & hands.  I just cut it out using a circle die.  The Happy Birthday sentiment was die cut using the Penny Black dies called Celebrations.  I cut it out three times and layered them together to get some extra dimension.

Have a great day...

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday Challenge - Score Lines

The Papertrey Ink Make It Monday challenge this week is adding score lines to your project.  Laurie has a video showing her tips & tricks when doing this.  For my card I did three score lines around a piece of 5 x 3 3/4 of white cardstock to act as a border.  I diecut leaves using PTI's Turning a New Leaf dies and the flowers were die cut using PTI's Beautiful Blooms II #2 set.  I then stamped them using PTI's Embroidered Blooms.  The sentiment was die cut &  stamped using PTI's Wet Paint stamps & dies.  I also added one score line around the whole card front as a border, which just fit the 5 x 3 3/4 piece.  It's a little hard to see with the white on white, but it gives the card some added texture.

I went with a darker photo, so you could get an idea of the score lines.
Have a great day...

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday Challenge

This week for the Papertrey Ink Make It Monday Challenge Danielle Flanders shows how to use heat embossing with ink blending to add a subtle yet striking addition to any project.  For my card I heat embossed the clock using the PTI stamp set Hands of Time and then blended ink over the top using a dauber. The hands of the clock were from the coordinating die set.   The flowers and leaves were die cut and stamped using the PTI set called Brushed Blooms  and the sentiment was die cut from the Penny Black set called Many Thanks.  Here is my card for this week's challenge.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Cute & Cuddly

My card today is for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Cute & Cuddly.  I went with an Easter themed card using a stamp from Whipper Snapper Designs called Cottontail. Once or twice a year they have a rubber sale in which they have buckets and buckets of rubber stamps that for some reason they don't mount.  For less than a dollar you can get some of their great designs.  The catch is you just have to mount them on the foam backing - such a deal.  This was one of those stamps.  The background was done using the Ray of Sunshine Cutting Plate from Taylored Expressions using papers from the 6x6 Recollections pack called Paddywack.  My inside sentiment and egg stamp was from the Art Impressions set called Hoppy Easter.

Make It Monday Challenge - Sponged Stamping

This week for the Make It Monday Challenge for Papertrey Ink Dawn is showing her technique using sponges to get a gradient look to your stamp images.  For my card I went with more of a bold color combo using the Papertrey Ink stamp set Feather Finery.  I didn't use the matching die cuts like I usually do, instead I stamped the images directly on cream colored card stock.  The sentiment stamp & punch is from Stampin Up, which is really old and I'm not sure if they even carry anymore.  I added some Stickles to the dots in the center of the feathers to add a little sparkle, which you can't see real well in the pic.  I love how the feathers look so delicate in this stamp set.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes

Today's card is for this week's Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes.  My card uses the stamp & die set from Papertrey Ink called Winter Woods.  I really love the birds in this stamp set.  The newsprint background was paper from My Mind's Eye Lost & Found - Portobello Road.  The next layer which is the white trees was a die cut using the Taylored Expressions Birch Tree Cutting Plate.  I went along the edges with some Antique LInen Distress Ink.  The sentiment stamp, oval & scalloped oval punches were from Stampin Up.  I made an oval die cut in a piece of Kraft cardstock then ran it through the Cuttlebug Honey Comb Embossing Folder.

Birthday Card Using Art Impressions Beach Booty Set

Today's card is a birthday card using the Art Impressions Beach Booty stamp set.  This set also comes with an action wobble and who doesn't love an interactive card.  I stamped, colored and fussy cut both images.  I don't have any wave die borders, so I used the MFT Die-namics Jumbo Ric-Rac to sponge on some waves.  The clouds were also a MFT Die-namics called Cloud Trio.  I basically did the same thing for the inside and used the Action Wobble to adhere that image.  The sentiment in the inside is from PrintWorks called Wishing You A Day and the Happy Birthday was from Papertrey Ink called Simple Birthday II.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Art Impressions Challenge #178 Shake, Rattle & Roll
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Shake It Up

Papertrey Ink February Blog Hop Challenge

Here is the inspirational photo for the Papertrey Ink February Blog Hop Challenge.  When I first saw this the first thing I thought of was PTI's Meadow Greens stamp & dies.  The background paper was from My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Sunshine series.  My sentiment was die cut using Penny Black's Celebrations dies.  Here's my take on the photo.
