Papertrey Ink Create Along With Us - August 2017

Today's card is for the Papertrey Ink challenge Create Along With Us.  The inspiration for my card comes from a card done by Dawn McVey.  As soon as I saw this card I was drawn to the simple, but lovely design.  Here is the card Dawn created using the new PTI Sunflower Harvest stamp set.

For my card I used the Papertrey Ink Humming Along stamps & dies for the flowers.  The sentiment is from the PTI set Beautiful Berries and I used the To The Point Edgers dies to create the point.  The paper was actually some old paper I had from Stampin Up.  It was kraft colored with the clear embossed flourishes.  I used Distress Ink with a dauber to darken it up and bring out the embossing.  Here is my card.

I layered two die cuts - slightly off centered to give it a decoupage look.  I fussy cut out just the center flower on a third die cut to finish it off.  Thanks for stopping by...

Art Impressions Challenge - Let's Distress

We are back from Florida and I have my stuff somewhat organized, so I am ready to start creating cards again.  For today's card I pulled out the Hot Java Mama clear set from Art Impressions.   The thing I like about the AI clear stamps is that they ink up nicely right out of the package.  I've used other stamps that the ink bubbles up on until the stamps have been used multiple times.  My stamped image today was the first time I used it and I only had to stamp it once and I was ready to color.   The sentiment is also from the same set.  All the papers were from the Basic Grey 6x6 pack Serendipity.  I also paper pieced the robe and added some Liquid Black Enamel Accents.  I am entering this card in the Art Impressions Blog Challenge - Let's Distress, so I used Antique Linen Distress Ink around my stamped image and sentiment for the challenge.

For my card I used the MFT stamp & dies called Fall Florals.  The frame was die cut using the MFT Stitch Round Square Frame dies.  The paper was from American Crafts called My Girl and the sentiment was from a  the Tiddly Inks stamp Birthday Wishes.  Here is my card.

Papertrey Ink - Create Along With Us

It's the start of the April release for Papertrey Ink and Nicole has some wonderful new products and examples posted all this week.  So the challenge is to Create Along With The Design Team this week at Papertrey Ink.  For my inspiration I used a card by Dawn McVey that uses the new Mix & Mat Scallops die.  Here is Dawn's card - I love this card!

The card below is my take on Dawn's beautiful card.

First I started off with a white piece of card stock and die cut the holes using the PTI Mix & Mat Flourishes die.  Since I didn't have anything like the Mix & Mat Scallop die that Dawn used I created the look by die cutting an oval in the same card stock and also cutting two die cuts using the Wildflower Corner die from Memory Box.  Then I glued them to the back of the oval.  I added a fishtail strip with the birthday sentiment from the PTI set Just the Ticket.  The flowers are from the PTI stamps and dies Rosie Posie & Rosie Posie two.  I adhered that to a white card base with foam squares.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday - Curved Sentiments

Today's card was inspired by the challenge at Nicole's blog for Papertrey Ink.  Ashley has a video showing her tips and tricks for making curved sentiments from straight ones.  For my curved sentiment I used a sentiment from the PTI set Wonderful Words: Birthdays.  I also used the coordinating die for the "birthday" die cut.  The cake was die cut and stamped using the PTI Invitation Basics stamps & dies.  I went with neutral colors, so I could use it for  either a male or female card.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Art Impressions Challenge - Spring-y Cards

Art Impressions challenge is Spring-y Cards, so I made a card to send out to my niece's two little ones.  I used the Art Impressions clear stamp set Hoopy Easter Set.  The bunnies & sentiments both come from the set.  The paper is from the Pebbles paper pad called Family Ties and the die is from Papertrey Ink called You've Been Framed - Hexagon.  I going to mail this card, otherwise I would have popped up the bunnies with foam squares.

Art Impressions Harv - Male Birthday Card

I'm always making birthday cards because that is what I use the most, but my stash is lacking male cards.  So I try to make a few just to have on hand.  Today's card is just that a card with more of a male theme.  The stamped image is from Art Impressions called Harv and the sentiment was one of those $1 stamps they have in the bins at Michael's.  It's a simple card, but I think it works.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Use more than one die or punch.  (I used 2 different sized circle dies for my sentiment).
Addicted To Stamps and More - Challenge #234 Clean & Simple
Crafty Creations Challenge #337 - Anything Goes

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday - Window Chipboard Sentiments

This week for Papertrey Ink Stephanie has a great video on window chipboard sentiments.  I think this technique gives your card a little something than the usual.  For my sentiment I used the stamps & die from Wonderful Words: Birthday.  For my top layer I used gold mylar tape on some white card stock and then die cut it out just for a little pop!  The balloons are from the PTI stamp set Scene It: Celebration.  I used a tip I saw on Betsy's blog applying the ink to the balloons using a sponge dauber.  It gives the balloons a somewhat transparent look.

Here is the inside with another sentiment from the Wonderful Words: Birthday stamp set.

Papertrey Ink Release Day 5

Today's challenge at Papertrey Ink for release day 5 is to take a card you previously made and were not happy with and redo them.  My card I made for the challenge that focused on stitching was not one of my favorites.  I didn't care for the dark colors and the sentiment was just lost in all the designs.  So for my redo I changed the orientation, I brightened up the colors and moved my sentiment off my focal point.  Here is my original card that I wasn't real happy with.

Here is my redo.  I like the colors a lot better than the first.

Papertrey Ink Release Day 4 Challenge - Birdhouse

Today is not a card, but a birdhouse.  For release day 4 at Papertrey Ink the challenge is to create a birdhouse using the template provided.  For my birdhouse I printed the template on white card stock, since that was the only kind I could get to go through my printer.  I gave it a red roof with a cedar shake look.  The leaves are from the Papertrey Ink stamps & dies called Turning A New Leaf.  The flowers are from the PTI set Forget-Me-Not and the bird is from Winter Woods.  This was a very fun challenge.

 Have a great day...

Papertrey Ink Release Day 3 Challenge

Today challenge at Papertrey Ink is to create a card with a spring theme containing flowers. I again pulled out my Papertrey Ink stamp set called Tulip Time.  I stamped the single bloom on white card stock.  Using the Papertrey Ink stamp set Fancy Flourishes I embossed them on a piece of white card stock and using a dauber rubbed ink over the flourishes for my background.  The birthday sentiment is from Just the Ticket.  Here is my card.

Papertrey Ink Release Day 2

The challenge for Papertrey Ink's release day 2 is to create a project using multiples of a single shape of a stamp or die cut.  For my card I used the Papertrey Ink die cut Circle Scribbles.  I used the smallest one of the set and cut out different colors of scrap card stock and mounted them on a piece of black card stock to give it some pop.  The sentiment is from the PTI set Keep It Simple - Birthday II.  I used white embossing powder on black card stock.

Papertrey Ink - Packaging

Again another fun challenge at Nicole's blog for Papertrey Ink.  Guest Blooger Rebecca Luminaries shares her thoughts and ideas as the new Packaging Ambassador for PTI.  I'm looking forward to her upcoming features.  For this challenge I made a tag using the PTI Text Block Die - Party Time.  I just used a piece of pattern paper for the background and some coordinating scraps of card stock for the balloons.  Add a ribbon and you have a quick tag that adds a burst of color to any package and can easily have a masculine or feminine feel.

Papertrey Ink - Stitching Focus

Papertrey Ink is changing things up and adding great new features to their releases every month.  Guest Blogger Lizzie Jones feature focuses on stitching.  I don't have any of the PTI stitching dies, so I made card using inspiration from the square coasters that were done by the design team.  My card uses the PTI stamp & dies called Quilted: Spring.  There are a lot of stitching design elements in this set, so I thought that would work.  The die cut sentiment was from Penny Black called Celebrations.

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday - Kraft & Colored Pencils

This week for Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday Melissa shares her tips for using colored pencils with Kraft card stock.  For my card I pulled out the PTI stamp set Delightful Dahlias.  I don't have many outline stamps, so this is my go to.  I used Versamark Ink and embossed with white embossing then colored using a yellow, orange & red pencil for the flowers and two colors of green for the leaves.  The die cut frame was from PTI's You've Been Framed Hexagon die set.  The paper was from the Prima Collection called Almanac.  I added a few gold sequins to finish it off.

Bugaboo's Gus Birthday Card

We have a friend who is celebrating his 95th birthday today, so I printed out a digi image from Bugaboo stamps called Gus Birthday - Recount.  These are perfect for a masculine card.  I colored the image with my Copics and added Glossy Accents to his glasses and balloon.  The papers are from My Mind's Eye Come Away With Me.

Art Impressions Challenge - Playful People

I have another card for the Art Impressions Playful People Challenge.  This one using an image & sentiment from Art Impressions called Hot Java Mama that I picked up at Hobby Lobby.  There are so many cute images & sentiments it was hard to pick just one. I again paper pieced her gown & robe using paper from Recollections Bright & Basic.  I use this paper pack since it's very thin pattern paper and works the best for paper piecing.  I work in layers starting with the lower part of the gown between her legs, then the left side, followed by the night gown and finally the right side to give it correct dimension.  The background papers were from American Crafts / Studio Calico Snippets collection.

Art Impressions Challenge -Playful People

This is the second week of the Playful People challenge over at the Art Impressions Blog.  I love all of these quirky characters, so it was hard to pick one.  After looking at all my stamps I went with the Art Impression set called AHH.  The other AI Sentiment "You're How Old?" is one I use a lot - it's perfect with the Golden Oldies stamps.  I love to paper piece and these stamps are perfect for this.  The paper I used is from Recollections called Bright & Basic and the speech bubbles were done using the Papertrey Ink using the Bubble Talk dies.

My card today is for Papertrfey Ink's celebration looking at the stamp sets of 2008.  For inspiration I used the card by Betsy Veldman using the stamp set Out On A Limb.  Here is Betsy's card.  I love the simple design.

For my card I used the PTI stamp set Twig Wreath to create my branch.  The bird was from Winter Woods and the sentiment from Just the Ticket.  Here is my card

Papertrey Ink - Celebrating Past, Present & Future 2009

It's been fun looking back at Papertrey Ink's Past stamp sets this week.  For my card today I used inspiration from a card by Cristina Kowalczyk.  She used a set from 2009 called Giga Guidelines.  Here is the stamp set and Cristina's card.

Since I didn't have this set I used the Papertrey Ink stamp set Lovely Layers.  The sentiment was done using Keep It Simple: Birthday II also from Papertrey Ink.  I thought it still needed a little something so I added some gems to the centers.  Here is my card for today.

Papertrey Ink Celebrating Past, Present & Future 2007

Papertrey Ink is celebrating their past ten years and looking back at the stamp sets from each year.  Today's card was made for the 2007 look back.  Since I didn't have any of these stamps I took inspiration from a card done by Dawn McVey using a set from 2007 called Beautiful Blooms.

Here is Dawn's card.

For my card I changed up the colors and used yellow instead.  For the flowers I used the Papertrey Ink stamps & dies called Delightful Dahlia & Delightful Dahlia Additions.  The edge was made using a die from Marianne design and the paper was from American Crafts called Classic Calico.  Here is my take on Dawn's card.

Celebrating Past & Present With Papertrey Ink

This year Papertrey Ink is doing something a little different for their anniversary this year.  On Nicole's blog PTI is celebrating the past & present, so today I am reposting one of my favorite cards I made using Papertrey stamps and dies.

I posted this back on in March of 2016 for a challenge that incorporated heat embossing and ink blending.  This is one of my very favorite techniques and I think it really works so well with the Papertrey Ink stamp set Hands of Time.  The flowers were from the PTI stamp & dies called Brushed Blooms.  I can't wait to see what the design team has planned!

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday - Stamped Dangles

This week's Make It Monday challenge for Papertrey Ink is a really fun technique from Amy stamping dangles from the sentiment.  This is a really different and creative way to use all those tiny stamps that come in most of the Papertrey stamp sets.  Here is my card.

All the stamps are from Papertrey Ink.
Happy Birthday Sentiment & Heart - Swoosh
The edge was die cut using two different edge dies from Spellbinders Card Creator A2 Scalloped Borders One.

Baptism Card & A Stamp Cleaning Tip

I just have a quick post for a card I made for my niece's new little girl's baptism.  I didn't have any stamps that really fit the bill, but I really didn't want to go out and buy a card either, so I just sorta winged it.  I can't really take credit for the design on this card.  I found it on the internet and I don't know who to give credit to.  I used the same layout design, but instead of stamping the background I used pattern paper.  The frames were die cut using the Papertrey Ink Cover Plate Pretty Frame Die and the flowers were from the PTI set called Bitty Bouquets.  The background paper was from My Mind's Eye Bramble Rose.  The sentiment was typed on my computer along with a sentiment on the inside that I found also on the internet.  Here is my card.

Before I go I have a tip I picked up on You Tube.  I was watching a video last week with the person cleaning their stamps with what she called The Absorber.  I use stamp cleaner, baby wipes and a stamp cleaning pad from Stampin Up, which still leaves a lot of lint on my clear and rubber stamps, so I was intrigued by this Absorber.  I looked it up on You Tube and there was another stamper showing how it works.  It's basically a shammy you can find in the automotive section of Walmart.  According to the video other brands do not work the same, so I went and picked one up and I must say it is fantastic!  Your stamps are squeaky clean with no lint left behind.  I just keep my damp in a plastic glad container.  You no longer need expensive stamp cleaner for your dye inks.  (I haven't tried it with StazOn Ink, so you might still need cleaner for that).  This is definitely worth the money!

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday - Masked Heart Wreaths

Melissa has a great technique this week for the Papertrey Ink Make It Monday Challenge.  Using a simple mask of really any shape you can make a really cute wreath.  I went with a heart mask as shown in the video and used stamps from the PI stamp sets Twig Wreath and the Mini Blooms.  The sentiment was was done using the stamps and die from Graceful Greetings.  I die cut the same heart shape as my mask in pink card stock and a smaller heart in white card stock that I added to mask area of the card.

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday - 2016 A La Carte

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday.  I am back with a card for the Papertrey Ink Make It Monday challenge 2016 A La Carte.  For my card used the technique from Danielle Flanders Make It Monday Challenge #243 Ink Blending Over Heat Embossing.  Using white embossing powder and VersaMark ink I heat embossed using PTI's Fancy Flourishes stamp set.  Using a blending tool I added some pink ink to bring out the embossing.  The die cut frame was from the PTI Shaker & Sprinkles Kit.  The flowers are from one of my favorite stamps & die sets PTI's Forget - Me - Not.  And last the die cut sentiment was from Penny Black called Celebration Dies.  Here is my card for this week's challenge.
